If Moo would run a mod like this, this server would be unique.
This mod draws europeans to play on a crappy USA server. Imagine what such a server could do for Europe if its based in Europe.

It would probably boost FL up again for the so many ppl that are trying to find new thrills in FL. (wich are ALOT of ppl)

I bet that this server would have a community large enough to fill it nearly 24/7 in about 3 weeks.

EVO mod in Europe....low ping....loads of new stuff without making FL a totally new game.

So ... I know its a long shot... but it might be a kickass oppurtunity to make this server unique. Instead of having a regular FL server and rebuilding a allready existing regular FL community.

There are loads of regular FL servers that draw most ppl on. There is no server in Europe that has a proper mod running that actually is more attractive to play then normal FL. And EVO certainly seems to be different.

With EVO mod you wont need to compete with other servers, and youll have a community of your own in no time at all I bet.
Probably stealing normal FL players to play EVO, making this the most wanted server in Europe.

I think this is not a dream, but a very good possibilty to achieve. And nearly not as hard as it might look. Or even making a new regular FL community.

well, it looks interesting, but would like to read more about it, ppl should check out the home site of the modmakers http://www.pathfinderstudios.com,
one thing to find out is how well do all the new ships work, as up until recently getting the right settings for collisions with custom ships was not exactly easy, meaning that u would bounce off a ship before or after you should, so this could produce some weird effects.

also they have a forum for technical issues so i dont think its bug free.

I like the idea of new systems a lot etc. but wouldnt want to lose our own mods like the capships either/csv anubis either

We really do not want to force all players to download and install a client-side mod and I honestly doubt the mod is entirely bug-free. However, I will have a look to see what it is like.

This is probably a dumb question, but i see in the mod instructions you have to remove and reinstall Freelancer, how will this affect the multiplayer save games ? ie will i have to do anything not to lose them.

Yes the player save games will probably be lost. Everyone might need to start over, or get a re-fund from the previous account.

I hope after Bliggy did some research on it, the findings will be positive enough to give it a try.

i think bliggy's point is good though as getting everyone to download a mod is too much really, and i would expect it not to work on all computers and might even make the game crash even more than it does now. i like a good mod along with the next guy but along as it doesn't mess anything up (i.e ping/lag computers crashing or server crashing) im up for it.

i wouldn't mind starting over from scratch anyway, we could have little light fighter wars along the way

Evolutions mod for freelancer eve online is a diffrent game.

The server he talks about in his post. Evo-2004 or watever . That is a gr8 server? So why make another serve running the same mod 2 try and take down another gr8 server. If it was always full then maybe but whats the point :S Makes no scence ! Run a completly new mod and be the first 2 run it or just a new version or sumit

i like your sugestion, run the mod on a trial erver so u dont mess up the good one if it not a good/fun mod, if it is, u can allways add the mod on the basic server
